THE GRASS ISN'T ALWAYS GREENER ON SOMEONE ELSE'S INSTAGRAM
With the power of social media, we are all so interconnected, which is truly incredible. We could spend hours scrolling through the tennis hashtag on Instagram and pinning yoga poses on Pinterest, but social media has its downside. In fact, studies have shown that spending time on social media websites like Facebook could increase feelings of envy and even cause depression. So, how does one maintain their happiness without sacrificing their Snapchat account?
It helps to remember that social media is basically a highlight reel, showing off the most exciting events in people's lives. It makes sense. We all do it. We post the most interesting things we're doing. We make the most attractive selfies our profile pics. It's not fair to compare their best days with your average ones. You have your own best days to focus on, anyways.
The next time you're scrolling through Instagram, envying that one friend who is always doing awesome things (we all have one), try to remember that you do awesome things too! Your life is just as amazing and beautiful, so please, remind yourself of this & celebrate yourself.
