5 WAYS TO LOOK TOTALLY GREAT THIS HALLOWEEN
With Halloween just around the corner, there’s a lot of buzz about costumes and how to look make them look amazing. In the spirit of the holiday, the 30Fifteen team put together a list of 5 ways to look totally great this Halloween.
1) Choose the right costume!
Whether you’re thinking outside of the box or sticking to a classic, focus on choosing a costume that you are completely comfortable in. If you’re comfortable in your costume, it’s easier to focus on having fun. Plus, constantly yanking on fabric, re-adjusting hair, and juggling massive props is simply not attractive.
2) Check the weather!
At first, this might sound like a weird way to make yourself look great in your Halloween costume, but there’s actually a strong connection here. It also goes hand in hand with our first tip because it has to do with comfort. Once you check the weather, dress for it! Unless chattering teeth (too cold) or sweaty pits (too hot) play into your costume, it will detract from your overall look and leave you feeling uncomfortable.
3) Try it on beforehand.
Preparation is key when it comes to Halloween night. That’s why we suggest you do a test fitting long before the 31st, just in case your costume doesn’t - well, fit! Halloween is a special event, so treat your costume as a special outfit. After trying on your costume, you might want to iron or steam it to rid any wrinkles.
4) Same goes for makeup.
When you test run your costume, maybe take the time to test your makeup as well. Trying new products? Sample them on a section of your skin first-so you don’t have any allergies or sensitivities. Try to stick to hypoallergenic makeup. Itchy skin is uncomfortable, and it could distract from your killer costume.
5) Now, stop focusing on how you look.
Once you’ve reached the party or started trick-or-treating or whatever else your Halloween activities entail, stop focusing on how you look! Instead, focus on having fun. After all, there’s nothing more attractive than happiness, and it’s hard to be unapologetically happy when you’re too self-conscious to have fun. Relax, have fun, and look great!
We hope that these tips help you have a happy and safe Halloween next Monday! In the meantime, leave us a comment. What are you dressing up as for this Halloween? Some of us at 30Fifteen still need convincing to participate in this very American holiday!
