REST. RESTORE. HAVE FUN.
Today is Christmas Eve and the first full day of Hanukkah, so you’re (hopefully) on holiday from work, which gives you time to rest, restore, and have a little fun! Here’s how to make the most of today.
1) Start your day with gratitude
After you’ve hopefully had the opportunity to sleep in, start your morning with a little gratitude. This is a practice we do every day, but it seems even more important in the spirit of the holidays. It might even help to fill out our gratitude list.
2) Release expectations.
Allow today to be what it is, without expecting perfection. We’re so often disappointed when things don’t go as planned, but that’s the reality of life. This holds true whether your day consists of holiday parties or just chilling with the fam. Life happens, yoga helps.
3) Create simple, healthy meals.
A healthy body is more likely to house a healthy mind, so it’s always important to keep your body healthy. That being said, don’t be afraid to indulge! Also, if you keep your meals simple but delicious, you’ll spend less time stressing out in the kitchen and more time chilling out.
You’ve been working hard all year, and now is the perfect time to chill out. You could try watching some of your favorite holiday films or even sneak in a little time on your yoga mat. Here are some more ideas on how to chill out.
5) Surround yourself with creativity.
Have a little fun and let your creativity run wild. You could write a love letter to a friend or even to yourself. If you haven’t already, you could get really creative with wrapping presents, decorating cookies, or write your own holiday carol. Being creative can be a huge stress release.
However, you choose to spend today, we hope by the end of it you feel rested, relaxed, and like you’ve had all the fun in the world.
