Busy days at 30Fifteen can leave the team feeling overly exhausted and totally out of it, and that's why we LOVE it when we can take a moment to squeeze in a nap. And we aren't the only ones; the Mayo Clinic is just as serious about naps.
So, here's the low down: taking naps is super beneficial when it comes to improving your mood, memory, and reaction times. They also increase alertness, and reduce fatigue, while providing you with a hefty dose of relaxation.
There are drawbacks, though. Napping during the day can leave you feeling groggy, and if you aren't careful, they can destroy your nighttime sleep cycle.
To reduce the potential negative drawbacks from napping, we recommend you keep your naps fairly short: between 10 to 30 minutes. This might seem short, but the longer you nap, the more likely you are to wake up feeling groggy. The best time to sneak in a nap is mid-afternoon - right when that post-lunch fatigue hits. Napping during this time of day is also less likely to mess with your nighttime sleep.
