BEST CONDITIONING FOR IMPROVING YOUR TENNIS GAME
30Fifteen loves, loves, LOVES tennis. OBVIOUSLY! We eat, sleep, and breathe the sport! So, we thought we would share some of the best conditioning tips for your tennis game!
It's important to remember that tennis is a highly demanding sport. Always, be sure to warm up and stretch beforehand to avoid injuring yourself.
This is where all of your power comes from. Definitely highlight your shoulders, core, legs, and back in your workouts. A good exercise idea: use dumbbells while performing forward and backwards lunges and some squats. Dumbbell shoulder presses are a great exercise for strengthening your shoulders, and try some plank holds to work on your core.
Speed and Agility:
These two things are a HUGE part of tennis. Improve your speed and agility with sprints or shuffling from side to side, using the length of the tennis court as a marker. Ladder drills are also super helpful in improving agility.
Long rallies can knock a girl out. That's why you need to seriously up your endurance by improving your cardio vascular system. Run on a track, sprinting the straightaways and jogging the curves.
Flexibility is SUPER important for preventing injuries and it can help to improve the strength of you strokes. Yoga is one of the best things you can do for flexibility and balance.
