5 TIPS TO LIVE A MORE ORGANIZED LIFE
Life is crazy and sometimes totally hectic. Things can often feel completely out of control, and you might find yourself saying, “I’m such a mess.” While life is always going to be a rollercoaster, there are ways to make the ride a bit less wild. One of those strategies is organization. The more organized you are, the more smoothly things run, but we can't all be Type-A, super organized individuals. So, how do you get more organized if you constantly find yourself losing your phone in a pile of clutter? With these 5 tips from 30Fifteen to live a more organized life, of course!
1) Write down everything!
Memory is not fool proof. For most of us, memory is completely unreliable. If you find yourself forgetting things on the regular, it might do you good to start writing your to-do’s, lists, and other information in some kind of notepad – physical or in your phone.
2) Back up everything.
We live in the technological age, meaning we can back up everything with digital files: birth certificates, IDs, bank details, photos, and financial records. Once you do that, back up your digital files again on an external hard drive. When even your backups have backups, there’s no reason to worry about losing things.
3) Clean up regularly, especially in the hot spots.
Organization is easy if you allot a portion of time in your daily schedule to keeping your space clean. Focus on the clutter hotspots, where messes tend to accumulate. Common hotspots are bedside tables, kitchen counters, and purses.
4) Manage your money.
The less organized you are, the more likely you are to overspend. If it’s easy to find the things you need, you won’t be going out shopping for something you already own but lost in your closet. You could also consider formulating a monthly budget plan you help you keep track of where your money is being spent and saved. Luckily, there’s an app for that.
5) Donate more!
Try donating one or two things before buying something new. This strategy has done amazing things for our closets. You’ll have less clutter, and you’ll be helping the world by donating. It’s a win-win.
It’s impossible to completely reorganize your life all at once; it’ll take trial and error, but if you make a habit of it, you’ll find yourself living organized bliss in no time!
