HEALTHIER DIET = HEALTHIER SKIN

HEALTHIER DIET = HEALTHIER SKIN

Healthy skin doesn’t come from using face masks and moisturizers. If you really want healthy, clear skin, start within! Exercise, sleep, and a lot of water always helps, but a huge part of maintaining healthy skin comes from a well-balanced, healthy diet.  Scroll all the way down to see 30Fifteen's list of foods for healthier skin:

30Fifteen Healthy Food for Healthy Skin

Almonds
These nuts are packed with Vitamin E, making them more than a convenient on-the-go snack. Vitamin E is great at protecting your skin from sun damage.

Tomatoes
However, you pronounce tomato – it doesn’t change the fact that they are filled with Lycopene, which functions as an antioxidant and eliminates skin-aging free radicals.

Watermelon
Watermelon. Water. Hydration. The more hydrated you are, the healthier your skin will be. Bonus points for all the Lycopene in watermelon.

Citrus
It’s no mystery that citrus is high in Vitamin C, which can boost collagen. Collagen is an important component in the strength and flexibility of the skin. Vitamin C can also fight inflammation, reducing puffiness.

Spinach
Along with other green leafy vegetables, spinach is high in Vitamin A, iron, and Vitamin K. Iron aids in circulation, carrying vital oxygen throughout your body, and Vitamin K can help prevent varicose veins. Spinach is also high in folate, which aids in the repair of DNA and possibly reduces the risk of skin cancer.

Carrots
These root veggies are packed with Vitamin A, which helps prevent the overproduction of skin cells a.k.a. clogged pores.

Dark Chocolate
If you’ve read our 3 Very Good Excuses to Eat More Chocolate post, then you already know that chocolate is full of flavanols, which can fight skin aging.

As a general rule, increasing your fruit and vegetable intake will improve the health of your skin and your body, overall. Couple that with drinking enough water and 8 hours of sleep a night, and you’re well on your way to perfect skin!
