Naturally, the 100 calorie burn rate could vary slightly depending on your body weight and the intensity with which you perform the exercises. Burning calories is an important part of maintaining a healthy weight, so we thought it might be interesting to post a few exercises with the highest caloric burn rate, according to the Mayo Clinic. (All the figures listed below are based on a 160-lb. person.)

Running at 8 mph: 861 calories/hour
Running at 5 mph: 606 calories/hour
Jump roping: 861 calories/hour
Racquetball: 511 calories/hour
Hiking: 438 calories/hour
Tae Kwon Do: 752 calories/hour
Tennis (singles): 584 calories/hour

We know there are some people out there that may be able to maintain 8 mph for an entire hour’s worth of running, but Team 30Fifteen might just stick to tennis. It’s important to remember that when maintaining a healthy lifestyle and a healthy weight, what you eat is far more important than what exercise you do, but that’s not a knock on exercising. What’s you’re go to workout? Let us know in the comments.
