HOW TO MAKE A VACATION OUT OF A STAYCATION THIS SUMMER
Got holiday hours to use, but no spare funds to plan an exotic trip this summer? For whatever reason you find yourself off work, and at home for a week, here's some things you can do to make it feel like you are on vacation!
GO TO THE BEACH OR POOL
If you're in England - let us remind you, you live on an island! There are so many beaches, and some are not full of pebbles! Why not take a trip to your nearest beach and pray for good English weather?! Same for you Americans, there are loads of lakes, and beaches at your finger tips, take some time out at the water! Not a beach or lake person? Most country clubs and leisure centres will allow you pay for a day pass which includes using the pool! Get your swim on in your local area!
GET THE BIKE OUT!
Has your bike been gathering dust since last summer? It's time to wipe it off and get it out! There are lots of bike trails all over, just head to google to find your nearest! Grab a helmet and go explore!
WORK ON THAT TENNIS GAME
When you're away a lot of resorts emphasize tennis, so why not do it at home? There are a lot of parks with courts, that you can play on for free, so grab your bestie or S.O. and play!
GO TO A MOVIE
What a foreign concept when it's so easy to rent a movie from Netflix - just a normal Tuesday night, right?! Get your head in vacation mode! Go treat yourself to a ticket to the latest film at your local giant movie theater, maybe even experience a 3D film. Don't forget the popcorn!
TAKE A NAP
Vacations are to escape from the daily hustle and relax. Allow yourself to catch up on some sleep in that hammock!
Malls are a whole experience these days- full of restaurants and entertainment as well as shops! So make a day out of browsing the latest looks at your local mall.
SEE A SHOW
You might not live in one of the major cities, where they are spoilt for show options. But many smaller playhouses host traveling shows that are just as good & fun! Browse whats showing at your local theater!
Walking is the best exercise, it can also be so therapeutic! Find a park or a scenic area, pack a picnic lunch, water and go explore!
TAKE A (LITTLE) CRUISE
Live near a lake or river? Most of them run day cruises, dinner or sunset trips. Find out and hop on!
READ A BOOK
You don't have to be sitting in a far away place to settle into a good book. Surround yourself with a lot pillows and nestle into your summer read.
TAKE AN EXERCISE CLASS
Why not try a pilates, yoga or spinning class while you're not at work!
Ah one of our summer time favs! Have your friends or extended family over and try to serve it with minimum burnt bits!
Not a golfer? This is the perfect time to try out your local driving range. Or head down to the crazy golf and joust with windmills!
SPEND TIME WITH THE KIDS
People remember the good times they spent together more than the places they've been. Get out the deck of cards, or a board game. Life is short- spend time with your family.
