FIGURE OUT YOUR REASON WHY

When you have a goal, it’s important to have a reason why. Why? Because you’ll surely get your goal accomplished if you have a reason that means a lot to you.

Danielle La Porte wrote “ If your goals aren’t synced with the substance of your heart, then achieving them won’t matter much”. We love this quote, because when you have a goal and a reason why you want to accomplish it, during the days that you get setbacks or feel like you’re getting nowhere. The reason why will slap you in the face and get you back on track.

German philosopher Frederick Nietzsche once said, ‘He who has a why can endure anyhow.’ Knowing your why is an important first step in figuring out how to achieve the goals that excite you and create a life you enjoy living (versus merely surviving!).

We talk a lot about goal setting here on the blog, but knowing your reason why you want to achieve these goals is as important as the goal itself. When you’re goal setting, ask yourself these questions:

What makes you feel alive?

What are your innate strengths?

Where do you add the greatest value?

At the end of the day, how will you measure your life?

The only person who has to be content with your accomplishments is you. Do you want to wake up in 50 years and say, I wish I had done that? Why didn’t I do that? If you’re anything like us, you’d say no! Try and do as much as you know you’re capable of, because life is here to be lived, to experience, to love!
